NFAS 3D Championships - 24th & 25th May 2008

The NFAS 3D Championships is one of the main Field Champs which takes place each year at a different location throughout England.

Ruth McWilliam has written a report for us

This year’s eagerly anticipated champs were held in the grounds of Arley Hall in Cheshire, a magnificent 15th Century stately home. Westcott fielded a strong team of archers - Hugh, John, Cass, Marky B, Shel, Fred, Terry and Ruth. Stu and Jo were also there helping with bow speed checks and admin!

The archers were spread across 3 courses, swapping to a different course on day 2. All of us shot C course on either day one or two, which was hailed as one of the best layed-out courses at a champs. The admin and marshals did an excellent job of getting us out there and shooting each day. Catering was also very good, offering a great variety of snacks and drinks to keep us going throughout the day.

All of the targets were 3Ds, some placed at interesting angles, some with tricky shot windows through the trees. I loved the Velociraptor across the gravel bed shot!

Results at the end of the day were not as we would have liked, but I managed to bring home my first medal for Westcott - bronze for Ladies Freestyle, my first ever placing in a national competition!

Congratulations to Jo for getting the results up on the NFAS website that same evening
