Chiltern Archers Vs Westcott Archers Juniors Vs Sir Henry Floyd School - 6th February 2008
Westcott Archers Juniors took on Chiltern Archers and the Sir Henry Floyd School in a friendly age specific shoot at Chiltern Archers on the 6th February 2008. It was a good natured friendly shoot with lots of parents present and our Junior Archers did us proud. As it was only an hour or so after school finished only 5 Westcott Juniors managed to make the journey from Westcott in time but we ware very proud of our archers winning so many of the catagories.
Nathan Thomas romped home in the U15 boys 60cm face competition but also out scoring the boys in the U18 section on the same sized face.
A special mention should go to Chris Taylor in his first ever competition scoring the highest score of the day with a score of 307 and winning the U15 Boys 80cm recurve section, He was followed by Ollie Cox taking second place with a score of 220.
The U12 boys competition was won by Cameron Murray scoring 270 on an 80cm face with Jerome Parkin of Chiltern in Second Place on 219.
And lastly but by no means last was Owen Murray in the U9 boys section who had only shot once before but showed a fantastic technique and a great understanding of what was going on for someone so young. Having never shot at 15yds before he still managed to came in 3rd only 35 points behind the winner Conner Collerton from Chiltern.
Congratulations to all the archers from all three clubs. It should be mentioned here you showed maturity beyond your years and your Clubs, Parents and Coaches should be very proud of you all. Many thanks to Gill Saunders and Chiltern Archery for hosting and Organising this shoot for us and we look forward to inviting both clubs over to us for a return match in the very near future.
